We are in a race against time.

Each day, approximately 300 World War II veterans pass away.

We loose one more untold WWII story every 5 minutes.

It started with an act of Honor.

Photographer Jeff Rease started the Portraits of Honor project in 2019. One man on a mission to give a final portrait to as many World War II veterans as possible.

Each veteran family receives free copies of their hero’s portrait.

“What began as a way to give back something small to these heroes has become somewhat of a journey for me — not only to make portraits of living World War II veterans, but to hear and record their stories firsthand. Not just reading about the most famous veterans' heroics in books, but also the everyday soldier, sailor, airman, mechanic, nurse, pilot, radio operator, or whomever served in that war that changed the world, and to share them with everyone I can. Because everyone needs to know what some of the 16 million plus Americans who served and sacrificed for their country.”
